Sustainable Futures
Our school's curriculum embeds sustainable practices as it asks students to 'think about forever'. We apply systems to reduce, reuse and recycle as we consume energy, water and paper. The school's grounds have been developed with diversity of animals and habitat in mind.Croydon West is a passionate participant in the Sustainable Schools program, emphasising resource conservation and reducing our footprint on the earth.Our children are involved each week in a specialised learning program which focuses on explorations and inquiries which encourage deep understanding of the issues affecting the Earth's future.
This year we have achieved Five Star Accreditation as a Sustainable School, a recognition of which we are very proud and which reflects five years of hard work by our school community.
Each week, all children participate in a range of activities in the Sustainable Futures room. This Specialist program focusses on using water, energy and other resources wisely.
