Transitions
The school has
established programs in facilitating and celebrating the transition from
Kindergarten to Primary School and from Primary School to Secondary
College.
Our Mini-Kids Program welcomes Kinder kids to the school for a program of experiences in the classrooms and specialist learning areas of the school. This programs continues over six sessions during terms 2 and 3. A further series of experiences is offered for those children who are enrolled at the school for the coming year, and familiarises the children with the processes and the physical surroundings of the school.
For our Year 6 students we engage in interactions with our local Secondary Colleges, and particularly our neighbouring Maroondah Secondary College, which ease the move from Primary to Secondary schooling. This program involves activities during the year but particularly during 4th Term.
We also recognise those transitions which occur within the school, as children move from the Early Years classrooms to the level 4 classes, as children move from Year 2 to Year 3, and as children move to our school from other schools. Each of these is an important transition point.
